Step-by-Step Brewing Process
1. Prepare Your Equipment
Heat water to 190°-205°F
Grind coffee to a sea salt-like consistency
Use a coffee-to-water ratio of 1:16 (e.g., 30g coffee to 480g water)
2. Filter Preparation
Place filter in dripper
Rinse filter with hot water to remove paper taste
Discard rinse water
Place dripper on scale and zero it out
3. Coffee Grounds
Add ground coffee to filter
Gently tap to level the grounds
Zero the scale again
4. Bloom Stage
Start timer
Pour 60g of water (about 2x coffee weight)
Pour from center, spiral outward to saturate all grounds
Let coffee bloom for 30-45 seconds
Watch grounds swell and release CO2
5. Main Pouring Technique
Pour water in stages, maintaining a steady spiral pattern
First pour: 90-100g of water
Allow brief drainage between pours
Continue pouring in 90-100g increments
Maintain a consistent water level in the dripper
Total brew time: 3-4 minutes
