Equipment Needed:
Paper filter
Paper Filters for AeroPress
Reusable metal filter for AeroPress
Coffee grinder
Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder (GMDubbya & Coffee McGregger both own this one - going on 3yrs)
Plenty of cheaper options. Expensive isn’t always good. $200 Breville burr grinder only lasted 6 months.
Hot water kettle
Gooseneck Electric Kettle (less expensive)
Timer - use your phone

Step-by-Step Brewing Process
1. Prepare Equipment
Grind coffee to a medium-fine consistency (like table salt)
Use 17-20g of coffee
Heat water to 200-205°F
2. Filter Preparation
Place paper filter in AeroPress cap
Rinse filter with hot water to remove paper taste
Discard rinse water
3. Coffee Grounds
Add ground coffee to AeroPress chamber
Use inverted method (plunger inserted at bottom of chamber)
4. Water Addition
Start timer
Pour water to saturate grounds (about 30-50g)
Let coffee bloom for 30 seconds
Stir gently to ensure even saturation
5. Complete Brewing
Fill remaining water to top of chamber
Stir 10 times
Attach filter cap
Flip AeroPress onto mug
Press slowly and steadily
Total brew time: approximately 2 minutes
Pro Tips
Use steady, consistent pressure when pressing
Stop pressing when you hear a hissing sound
Experiment with grind size and brew time for preferred taste
